Dear Friends and Culinary Enthusiasts!

As we countdown to Pastry Live Weekend next week August 26-28th, we present our third installment of the Pastry Postcard special miniseries featuring past events that contributed to the evolution. This week's Pastry Postcard takes us back to:

2009 Casting Challenge
Student Competition

(Miniseries 3 of 4) Pastry Postcard-Special

Another opportunity for us to sponsor a Sugar Art Casting Challenge came about in 2009. That year, the event was held at and hosted by Johnson & Wales University, Charlotte campus. The event leader was Chef Instructor Robert Epskamp. As usual, Chef Rob went far above the call of duty by spending his personal time to help his students train and prepare for the event. The results are great! Each student team brought something new to the table. Thank you Chef Robert and Johnson & Wales!

Look out next week for the final installation-the 2011 Sugar Art Casting Challenge!
