Another opportunity for us to sponsor a Sugar Art Casting Challenge came about in 2009. That year, the event was held at and hosted by Johnson & Wales University, Charlotte campus. The event leader was Chef Instructor Robert Epskamp. As usual, Chef Rob went far above the call of duty by spending his personal time to help his students train and prepare for the event. The results are great! Each student team brought something new to the table. Thank you Chef Robert and Johnson & Wales!

Special Events

Countdown to August 26-28th (that's next weekend) in Atlanta, Georgia!

The two-day seminars are taught by renowned pastry chefs Jean-Marie Auboine, Susan Notter with Karen Portaleo, and Stéphane Tréand, MOF, on August 26th & 27th.

On the 28th, The National Showpiece Championship kicks off. This year's teams include Andy Chlebana & Nancy Carey, Tracy DeWitt & David Smoake, Heather Hurlbert & Natasha Capper, Yoni Morales & Alfredo Rueda and Jim Mullaney & David Ramirez. The teams have six hours to build one showpiece either in sugar or chocolate. With no theme and few limits, the results are sure to be like nothing we've seen before!
